Woods:

The materials used in the manufacture of our gift items are from both domestic and foreign origin.  None of the hardwoods come from species deemed as endangered.  The grain patterns and coloring of all woods will vary with the stock purchased.  The pictures on these pages are representative of these factors for each type of wood shown.  Each picture is unretouched and is of an actual pen we have made.  Because of the variance in woods we cannot guarantee that your pen or pencil will be exactly what you see pictured.  What we can guarantee is that you are satisfied with your pen.  If not satisfied contact us, within 10 days of purchase, and we will see that arrangements are made for you to have a full refund.

Antler:

The antler we use comes from the white tail deer.  The shedding of antlers by the male of the species is an annual ritual.  It is these sheds that are collected from the mountains of eastern Kentucky that we use exclusively.  No antler is used from "killed" deer.  As with woods, antler comes in many colors and densities.  The same guarantee applies to the antler as we have for our woods.

Ivory:

Any material used is of vegetable origin (nuts), or is from fossilized ivory from the mammoth. or from legally obtained elephant ivory. (A certificate of legality is provided with elephant ivory.) As with the other natural materials we use, variations in color and texture do occur.  We do warranty our ivory. However, because of the delicate nature of this material, there may be some limitations on replacement. Remember, if you are uncomfortable then your ivory is also. Your car interior will ruin your pen if it is left inside in either a hot or cold time.
     All Our Ivory is Legal Pre-Ban inheritance Ivory. Certificates will be provided with each Pen purchased.
     Because of the export ban all items made from elephant ivory are not available internationally. They can only be shipped in the United States.

Natural Material Disclaimer:

All natural materials have differences in appearance from one piece to another.  Although we use the best of materials we cannot guarantee that the grain, color, or consistency of the materials will be identical.  Warranty claims because of these differences will not be honored except under the 30 day warranty as stated above.

Fittings and Finish:

Fittings used on our pens are guaranteed for life. If you ever have a pen that has a finish problem with the plating then just let us know. We will correct the problem.

There are several types of gold plating available on pen fittings. They range from 24kt gold plating, the least resistant to wear, 10kt gold plating, more wear resistance, 10kt gold plating with epoxy coating, a very wear resistant plating, and titanium gold, the most wear resistant gold plating we have available. We will use the most wear resistant plating available for the pen style you choose, but rest assured that we will replace any fitting that shows wear no matter what it is plated with.

We do not offer solid fittings because they simply would not hold up to the stresses that a pen will see. If you have other questions about plating options, please ask us.
